"Old Man" of the story is quite simple. Lao Yumin Santiago fishing, 84 days nothing. But he does not therefore lose heart, continue out to sea, after two days and nights of hard work has finally caught a rare fish. He was returning unfortunate shark population, although efforts are still outnumbered
